Commercial Real Estate Resources


In order to prepare for the Project Blogger challenge coaching the development of a commercial real estate blog with London Whitted, I've been checking internet resources for commercial real estate. I discover it's hard to find local statistics on even basic multiunit commercial transactions let alone hotel/motels and gas stations.

Commercial seems to be a bright spot in the tech-oriented Bay Area:
The San Francisco Chronicle provides a weekly overview of commercial transactions, the latest here. With the relative dearth of data compared to residential, commercial real estate seems to be transacted within the province of tight social networks. An offline way to develop these network relationships is through commercial marketing meetings. Here is a sample of Bay Area meetings supplied by Jeff Johnston of www.investprop.com :
