Google Page Rank update

Some time this Monday evening Google updated its
page ranks. None of the tech-dominated Twittersphere I follow mentioned it. A Technorati search for "page rank" at 10:30pdt, only Dave Smith (h/t) and Greg Swann noticed it, no one else, even the SEO guys.

It was a non-event, another indication of the SEO community's lack of interest in what once was an awaited online event.

My guess is either no one saw an improvement, or took hit for the worse.

I'm more convinced that you can't 'game the system'. Outside of the sound advice re: what NOT to do and writing compelling, competent, original content worthy of linking to naturally, SEO diagnosis and prognosis center around analyzing what seemed to happen with the last PR update, which is hypothesis at best....IMO

Page rank on the toolbar is a definate non event these days. With the penalties that some of us got it means even less as the value that is ascribed to a site by Google is not reflected with any accuracy in the page rank.

The key to how Google really looks at your site is how often it scans it for new information according to the SEO experts that I read.
