Simple poll about real estate sites

Yes, it's unscientific, but possibly interesting...

Hmmm.. I'll have to check back when there are more then 25 votes. I'll have to put my money on Trulia though. Even the "Voices" are entertaining.

Interesting that you missed the number one real estate website for traffic i the world. Remax.com I don't work for remax but hey they are number one. Check out my commercial real estate blog at www.MikeBolen.com I have a post that shows the ranking of the top real estate websites.

Granted the polling exercise was ad hoc and for fun. I deliberately avoided listing the top 5 real estate sites or including any brokerage brand sites (beyond NAR's REaltor.com). So far, the outcome order (I guess you could call it a popularity contest) approximates what I had expected based on a predominantly real estate professional readership, with Redfin slightly higher than expected.

It's interesting to see peoples impressions on R.com...Real Estate 2.0 sites are eating R.com's lunch. Make the site's number one priority providing the consumer with as much information as possible about listings. There are much better business models out there then how they have been operating for the past 10 years.

Oddly enough the chart seems to indicate that the companies that make the most revenue score the lowest and the ones the least the highest!
Any guesses on the revenues of each of the five companies.
My guess Realtor.com makes hundreds of millions in annual revenue and only HomeGain makes tens of millions.

Is it better to win a poll with a small number of re.net visitors to transparentre or to make money?

How about a poll as to which company makes more money?

The poll wasn't meant to be a popularity contest... it's statistically insignificant and a test...  it only concludes that every site has its adherents, nothing more.

        Pat!
You don't need to conduct a poll to conclude that every site has its adherents.

The site comeandtakemymoney.com (still available to register I wonder why?) would have the most adherents.

Would you want to run that one?

You're right, the poll was only an experiment, a game... it was superfluous... I admitted as much from the start. It would have been interesting if the results skewed heavily to one of the sites, but it didn't. You're taking it too seriously...
