Transparent Humor... or Carnival of Weenies
I'm a huge fan of laughs - more as the recipient of a good joke than a teller of one. I secretly enjoy perusing the spam folder for those dumb email jokes I receive from my older friends - I think retirees have formed their own joke circuit. I've noticed that the jokes have moved from email attachments to youtube links... I can imagine my retiree friends perusing youtube for stuff to pass around - here's one about a dumb blonde on the Newlywed Game I just got recently.
This is one more example of how the internet is changing a paradigm... humor has become transparent. Anyone can be funny and tell a joke by sending a link. Every joke imaginable is probably out there and if you're a stand up comedian, you can prep and get inspiration for your schticks from youtube.
Anyway, this week's Carnival of Real Estate will be co-hosted by Transparent and the Real Estate Weenie. The Weenie is really funny... today, Teresa talks about blog plagiarism, but she introduces the article by talking about how she writes on her "bad" blog in the middle of the night and muses on "hell". Googling around, I notice Active Rain has a very active comedy club. Flipper Nation is alive and well - love their pandering self congratulatory review: Flipper Nation was named one of the "Best of the Web,"alongside TV shows like Heroes and American Idol.
So for the Carnival, Transparent and the Weenie invite you to submit your funniest stories or videos, even if you can barely patch together some sort of relationship to real estate... and you may also submit a less funny, more traditional Carnival entry. Two submissions! The funny ones go on the Weenie next Monday...

sometimes I try to be serious but people laugh at me. So now I don't even try. We are going to have fun with this. There is so much humor in real estate these days. some of it is even g rated.

Me, too! I love when my retiree clients send me safety tips (and write as the intro, "Be careful out there, Cari!") or send the so-obviously-needs-to-be-verified-but-they-didn't 'important news for anyone with young children' links. God love 'em.
