Three New Blogs to Watch

It's intriguing watching the real estate blogosphere grow. Although Transparent is a mere four months old, I've already seen successive "generations" that enter on a monthly basis. The explosion at Active Rain has made it almost impossible to keep track of the new contributors... it is that prolific.

Three new blogs started last month with some moxie... what's interesting about these three blogs is they already seem to have found each other on their blogrolls and comments... as if they understood they were among the top kids in the matriculating class of November, 2006.

VideoMagazineTV is all about video presentation and tips tied together with real estate commentary. It's positioned to be a leader in how-to's and uses of video in real estate, an up and coming play in Real Estate 2.0.

I don't think there's a charge to list properties. They do, however, have a credit card verification process to ensure that you are who you say you are....

Thank you so much Greg and Marlow :-$ ... I'm not sure what blogger protocol is, but I just revised the post because my error was so grievously erroneous and it made no sense to keep the original up there. I think I'll go to sleep now...

It's security, not a charge. They do it to make sure you're not scamming houses.

Thank you Teresa! What's really cool is my blatant error on this post was caught almost immediately after posting about 10pm... I have two more blog angels to thank (including you of course, my original blog mom)...

Pat - Thanks for the kind mentioning of our Video Magazine site and blog. We do believe video will become more mainstream as virtual tours once were a few years ago. The expectations of the consumer will continue to grow as we see new entries into the video space. We hope to differentiate our platform services by giving the agents and their assistants the opportunity to do more that just post a video. Video for real estate can be used for more applications besides a video home tour. Nearly all messages of communicating ideas, facts, greetings, demonstrations, etc. are open. For example, how can agents use video in their monthly newsletters to reach out and touch their clients? Would a video greeting be a better way for agents to say hello, share current events, plug in their featured listing, share a recipe, share holiday greetings, etc? Would that name/face recognition be more memorable than a text email? We don't know, but it's worth giving some thought to...

    Pat,
Thanks for new info, thats why I come here, the Zillow thing with the cc didn't deter me, but I thought about it for a while, the video is too cool and easy to do, it seems to me the more basic I get on my listings the better traffic I get. I get many hits from craigs list, just by entering basic info, web site, and photos, than a slick flyer...I think the home video tour is where its at! Happy Holidays to you!
