Lead generation discussion clarification

Just a clarification on our discussion of leads and how they work from the REALTOR point of view. In conclusion, realtors don't mind paying for services that will drive lead traffic to their websites; it's another form of SEO.

It's the companies with capture websites like HouseValues.com that, as Teresa Boardman aptly puts it: "are fake home valuation sites where the home owner thinks they can just get a value but what they really get is a phone call from an agent who may or may not know what he or she is doing".

Teresa also says part of the problem stems is the hidden agenda from all the "experts" who are actually the ones who make money selling leads to realtors. "They are online preaching to us about how powerful the internet is, how to make money from it and, basically, how to run our businesses. I notice that some are even touting the demise of the realtor as the internet replaces them" (ed. note: how's that for marketing to your core client base?). "They hope this happens, they tell us it's happening, and all that pressure gets them customers for their leads".
