Pocket Listing MLS? - Watch Redfin's "First-to-Know"

Redfin is trying out a new program they call "
First-to-Know" that looks like the beginnings of a Pocket Listing MLS. In my circle, Pocket Listing MLS has become a parlor game question because it seems like a great idea but no one knows why it doesn't exist. Google Pocket Listing MLS for an exercise in irrelevance.

Glenn at Redfin expresses the concept's attributes well - Frictionless = no contracts, no obligations, Customized matching of pocket listing to buyer, and Provisional - Seller can mix and match sales strategies.

I tried a pocket listing last year when selling our home during the seller's market, and opted for a realtor listing agreement when I realized that would bring more buyer competition. The pocket listing afforded us reflection time to get used to the sales process and chart out a sales strategy, especially relaxing for a first time home seller. I'd still do this again.
